נְחוּשָׁה“bronze”The word נְחוּשָׁה (nechushah), "bronze," is the better known form of this pair. It is the feminine of the describing word נָחוּשׁ (nachush), "made of bronze," and Hebrew uses it on its own as a name for the metal. Almost all of its ten appearances are in poetry: a bow of bronze that only a warrior with God given strength can bend, copper smelted out of stone, doors of bronze broken open for Cyrus, and a stubborn forehead that will not soften. Because the two forms say exactly the same thing, one as a noun and one as a describing word, they are studied together here.
