יֹשֶׁר“uprightness”יֹשֶׁר (yosher) is the everyday noun for uprightness in this family, and the form the Hebrew Bible almost always uses. It runs from honest motive ("uprightness of heart") to upright character, to a straight path, to what is simply right or due. The rare יְשָׁרָה (yishrah) is the same noun built with a feminine ending, so anything said about יֹשֶׁר holds for it too.
