ζηλωτής“zealot”The word ζηλωτής (zelotes), "a zealot," is the ordinary noun for a person who burns for something: a partisan, an enthusiast, someone fiercely committed to a cause, a law, or a way of life. It is the word Paul uses of his old self, fiercely devoted to God and to the traditions of his ancestors, and the word Titus uses for a people made eager for good works.
